Going as far north as she has ever been, the RV Belgica is embarking on an oceanographic campaign in Iceland. Exploring the fjords and its continental shelf, the scientists on board are seeking to quantify the sediment geochemistry and mineralogy in order to test the feasibility of Enhanced Silicate Weathering, a method aimed at reducing atmospheric CO2 naturally.
